A busy June for ABJ July 02 2013
I'm just about recovering from last month. What a whirlwind!
First there was The Jewellery Show London, set in Somerset House, I had a stand in the light and spacious Navy Board Room, one of Somerset House's most historical rooms. I spent two days meeting buyers and making trade and press contacts, as well as being lucky enough to have great jewellers on the stands next door, including the brilliant Jeff Hoopman, who was wonderful company. Pieces from my collections were also selected to feature on The Jewellery Show Runway.
I had to have a quick turnaround, as Treasure opened the very next day with a VIP Press reception. The centrepiece of Jewellery week, Treasure featured the top talent of the jewellery world, and I was blown away by the incredible jewellery on show. Poppy Porter, Dominique Lucas, and Jessica de Lotz's stands were looking fabulous, as well as The Jewelstreet Boutique, one of my own online stockists. The champagne flowed, as the stunning jewellery in the Embankment Galleries worked its magic on everyone.
Next, up to Edinburgh to the stunning Missoni Hotel for a preview event with International Jewellery London, (and more champers - a definite perk of the show scene) to meet key Scottish buyers. I was there as one of the 10 selected designers for their Kickstart initiative.
And finally, back to Somerset House (which I feel is fast becoming my new home) for The Goldsmiths Pavilion. It was a real highlight to exhibit with the legendary Goldsmiths Company, alongside the best jewellers and silversmiths that Britain has to offer. The press and VIP night was attended by Hilary Alexander, and a host of other journalists.
Time for a little break from shows now, to start planning International Jewellery London in September!
